Apple new Mac Pro was finally released after 6 months after the actual announcement. It's only been hours after the release and yet the shipping estimates have been extended to February. At first it was around 30th December. However, certain models were schedules to be shipped in January.
The delay could be due to a combination of various reasons- First of all, this is the first Mac product to b produced in the USA, so there could be a lack of supply. Secondly, it could be due the sudden pent up demand for the product. Either way, congratulations to the lucky ones who ordered as soon as it was up for sale!

It was first rumored that they were going to start the sale from December 16th. But since that did not happen, we were expecting it in the last week of the month, after Christmas. But guess what? You can now get your Christmas present right in time! Apple has confirmed that the new Mac Pro will go on sale from tomorrow, starting at $3,000. For that, you'll get a 3.7GHz quad-core Xeon CPU ("with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.9 GHz"), 12GB DRAM, two AMD FirePro D300 GPUs, and a 256GB ssd. You will be able to pick this up online not Apple's website. However, we are not yet sure if it will be available at the retail stores. Stay tuned for more updates.
Now, I wanted to use the app for a couple of days before writing this review so as to find out any bugs or errors in the app, which I did.

Comparing the new app for windows witht the ones on iOS or Android, you can see that the UI is much different. Instead of having the four tabs down below, we have them at the top near the Instagram logo. Now having these tabs at the top dosent leave the bottom empty. At the bottom is three options- capture, search and refresh. In addition tothese three, you can also pull up settings option from the bottom which then leads to the settings menu. If you haven't noticed, in the iOS or android app, the Instagram logo would disappear once you start scrolling, which doesn't happen in the app for windows. Now the downsides to this is that it reduces the screen real estate. However, the pap runs smoothly without any lag.

One of the popular third party application, approved by Instagram, is 6tag on the windows phone platform. In then new Instagram app, capture option leads directly to the gallery from where we can chose to 'take a photo' which then leads to your standard camera application. In 6tag, capture option leads you the inbuilt camera with all the filters and what not, with the grid option, flash, etc. Now that would be the only reason I would switch to 6tag instead of the new. App.

However, Instagram has to improve upon their new app for windows phone with the increasing users not only on Instagram but windows phone 8 as well! Let's wait and see.

My Instagram- @TheAshwinNaik

Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4137601431877941646.post-90080636420589033112013-11-17T04:21:00.001-08:002013-11-17T04:21:51.881-08:00How to Root Your Micromax Funbook P300 (HD)

As you might already know there is no official ROM by cyanogenmod for the micromax funbook. One of the few features include, customized unlocking on lockscreen (Voice search, camera, homescreen, etc). The first thing you might notice is that most of the google apps have been uninstalled. It does save you a lot of space. Another reason why I fancy this ROM is the ability to bring up a few major options by holding on to the power button, such as screenshot, restart, power off, etc. The launcher too, looks much better than the stock ROM. Well, these are some of the many features that are included in this ROM. You can watch the video down below for a detailed review on this. Thanks for reading! Stay tuned.

Be it through safari or by mail. Sometimes there comes a time when we need to download certain music files which may not be on the iTunes Store. One of the apps that I found very helpful is 'Free Music Download' app by Sergey Sokolov.
This app not only allows you to download music files but play them through different equalizers and search for its lyrics directly from the app.
Features-
*Download Music Files
*Inbuilt browser to download from any website.
*Same arrangement of playlists, albums, artists, genres, Songs.
*Rename files, make folders, move files.
*Apply equalizers.

Advantages-
One of the main advantages that I found in this app is the ability to get the lyrics to a song with just a single tap. Also, in te regular iOS music app, you would have to go into the setting menu, music and ten select an equalizer. But in this app, you can directly change equalizers without having to go into te settings menu. The ability to create folders is also a pretty cool feature which the regular app does not provide. Also, when you connect your device to a computer, you can copy your downloaded files to your computer or even to your music library.

Disadvantages-
With all these above mentioned advantages also comes certain disadvantages that we have to deal with. For example, there no particular order or website that you can go into and download a song. Unlike the iTunes Store, you'd have to go a particular website and search for a song and then download one of desirable quality. But that quality or the song is not guaranteed. But when you're downloading music from websites like cdbaby spotify etc, it won't be such a big problem.
Given below are a few pictures of the Pp in action.
Step 1- Open up Cydia and search for Evasi0n 6.x untether.

Step 2- Install the tweaks. Cydia will ask you to restart your springboard. And when it's done, you're good to go with your all new untethered jailbreak!
This is believed to be a set a leaked photos of the upcoming product from Apple, rumoured to be the iPad Mini 2. This is claimed to be the back casing of the iPad itself leaked from a chinese forum (via Apple insider) which also suggests a thicker form factor than the 1st generation.
The thicker form factor suggests that the iPad mini 2 will have a retina display, as the iPad 3 was thicker than the iPad 2 when it got a Retina Display. And who knows, maybe it will have a better battery as well! Analysts say that Apple has decided to refresh its tablet line up twice every year, which suggest that there might be some new products unveiled this march! And if rumours are to be true, the Retina iPad Mini will obviously be priced higher than the Original iPad mini which already is overpriced from the other 7" competitors. Take a look at these pictures-
But, in their latest update to version 5.5 (I think!) contains yet another new feature, allowing you to call anyone you want for free, if you're living either in the USA or Canada. The only stipulations are that users have the bandwidth to burn and live in either the US or Canada. Otherwise, the interface and functionality are dead ringers for the Messenger equivalents we tried in January. We've seen loads of other apps that let you, or claim to let you make voice calls, but this seems pretty legit! But, there's been no word as to when a version for android or other platforms will be released or whether this feature will be available to other countries. If it becomes available, it probably will be a huge bummer for cellular companies! Lol
Apples new revolutionary iPhone 5 was released about 2 weeks ago. It has got some new features to software and hardware. The question is, does it live up to the expectations of Apple lovers? Is the iPhone 5 still revolutionary?
First of all, one of the major improvements on the iPhone, is the biggest display. This was a huge leap for apple to compete with the android phones with larger screens. And it is quite innovative how they made the screen taller and not wider. And I gotta admit that it's my favorite thing about the new iPhone. The back of the phone is also changed and replaced with an aluminum back with two glass panels on either sides. It makes the phone 20% lighter and 18% thinner. The camera, on the other hand, is the same one which we saw on the iPhone 4S. BUT they have changed the glass cover to a sapphire (I'm not sure what its called! Lol) back which is harder and does not get scratched easily! In addition to the larger display and form factor is the smaller lightning connected in place of the old 30pin dock connector. Well, apple is also selling lightning to 30pin converter adapters incase you have old docks or chargers. Apple has also quoted that they're gonna be usin the new lightning connector on all their future devices. Plus, we obviously have the retina display with a weird resolution, which is hard to memorize. So that's a whole bunch of improvements on the hardware!
But what about the software? Honestly, I think this is the downside to the new iPhone. Software isn't what we really expected it to. It's got the new maps application, Siri improvements, and 200+ features! But where are all these features? That's the question! We've been seeing the same old homescreen with the icons just sittin there doing nothing, as well as the same old lock screen with no improvements but the camera icon. So I think that if apple dosent add any kind of personalization options in their next OS update, they're gonna lose their market to android devices and companies like Samsung. In my opinion they should have added something like widgets, or dashboard or something like that! To people with older A4 devices, iOS 6 is a big disappointment. So we can conclude that, software wise, the iPhone 5 is nothing new!
Price is something else that is very annoying, and it makes it unaffordable for people. For example it was release for a 100,000 rupees here in my country India. And the 16GB version is now being sold for 60,000 rupees.
On the other hand, they new Apple earpods seem to be very intuitive and handy! The new design makes it way better than the ones that apple were giving away with the iPhones ad iPods.
But, in the end It all comes down to what you want and what serves your needs! Hope this post helped all you guys! Thank you for reading!
Stay tuned, stay snazzy.
Whassup guys? Recently we saw the release of Apple's new Mobile Operating System, the iOS, version 6.0 for the public! But after all 4 beta version, its still got all the bugs? The features of iOS6 was already disappointing with the iPhone 5. But honestly, there are so many bugs in iOS6 right now, which users have been reporting to me. So what bugs are they? why are they there?
1. WiFi - The first known bug was that almost all iDevices after update couldn't connect to their WiFi networks, including the brand NEW iPhone 5!
2. AppStore Crash- The Appstore has been crashing ever since I update my iPod touch to iOS6! The whole new interface of te Appstore is pretty cool, but a lot of users are not able to download apps off of it!
3. Facetime - My ringtone would ring, completely out of the blue! No call, no facetime, nothing! Just the ringtone ringing!
4. Location Services- Remember that little arrow that shows up in the status bar when you use location services? Well, that just comes up and stays there pretty much all the time! Even when you're not using ANY app!
5. Maps bug- Fans of iOS were extremely excited to experience Apple's new mapping software, titled simply "Maps." It turns out that the Apple Maps app has been far less than stellar. Users have complained of an oversimplified terrain view of certain areas in addition to several bugs.
6.Passbook- One is the most prominent features of Apple iOS 6 is the Passbook, which helps users organize boarding passes, movie tickets, retail coupons, loyalty cards and other receipts and gift programs in one place. Although the app is great in theory, it hasn't been functioning properly. When Passbook is opened, there's a small button at the bottom of the screen that says "App Store," which is the only thing that users can click. When the button is clicked, the device says "Cannot connect to the iTunes Store," which essentially renders the app useless.
7. Music Library- : Several users reported that entire music libraries vanished from their phones!! Completely!!
8. Facebook and Twitter updates from lock screen: Although this feature is not actually a bug, it's an incredibly big security hole that's been left available. Anyone who holds any pride in their social networks should be aware of the fact that Siri can update social networks from the locks screen. The feature can be disabled from the Passcode Lock settings.

So much for iOS6 guys. Honestly, I think Apple is just loosing their touch of perfection and secrecy! Cause we all knew, almost all features, and of course the design of the iPhone 5, before the release from leaks from the manufacturers and all. Apple used to be a very secretive company, but now I think its just loosing its touch. Feel free to comment in what you think about it, and don't forget to share this post, so that we can reach more people! Thanks for reading!
An Inexpensive iPad mini could reset the 7 inch class tablet market, dont you think? Will Apple lowball the iPad mini? The answer comes from whether Apple wants to crush their opposition or just keep their dominance in the market. $299 seems like a good price for the iPad mini, which is rumored to feature 4G LTE. But, I believe that Apple could go as below as $249 for the entry level iPad mini's. If it did, it will definitely shake up the whole 7 inch tablet market, beating the nexus 7 tablet from Google which features only WiFi!
While Google is anticipating the arrival of the iPad mini, with ads almost everywhere, even in the Google search page! Its is, of course, a smart strategy - drive more sales of an already popular product before the iPad Mini tsunami hits! lol
Asia, where 3G is necessary , a smaller and cheaper iPad with 3G/4G capability would be an extremely attractive product!
Whassup guys!
Hewlett Packard, posted a $8.9 billion loss last quarter thanks to a massive charge the company took related to its 2008 acquisition of Electronic Data Systems, But it actually managed to beat Wall Steet's consesus excluding thaht charge! And now HP, struggling to get back in the game, has come up with 3 new Windows 8 machines that will bring to us sleek designs, unique features, and of course a wide range of price points!

Starting off with the HP Envy x2. The unit consists of a Windows 8 Pro tablet, connected to a base of a full-sized keyboard. The whole thing is, I believe, 11.6 inches and offers a very sleek design. Each component has its own battery, but when connected together the battery in the keyboard discharges first so that we get more battery in the tablet! Additional features include Beats Audio, integrated NFC, stylus input support, a high-definition front-facing webcam for video chats, an 8-megapixel rear camera and an Intel Clover Trail processor. The ENVY x2 will launch ahead of the holidays in the United States and pricing has not been set.
Next, we have the HP Envy 'TouchSmart' Ultrabook, which features a sleek design and solid specs! The ultrabook comes with an Intel core processor, with 2Gb of dedicated graphics card from AMD and of course, Beats Audio.
The whole thing measures 23mm when closed. The pricing is believed to be slightly higher than that of the non-touch ultrabooks which are now available in the market for $699.

And coming up last, but not the least, we have the HP Spectre XT 'touchsmart' for those who prefer that the screen always be attatched to the keyboard. As its name implies, the 15.6 inch HD radiance display is a touch-screen and has been optimized for windows 8. It features HDMI, Ethernet, USB 3, and Thunderbolt ports. Also, you'll find NFC in the laptop. According to sources, the Spectre XT is believed to cost $1399.99

Of the three computers, the HP Envy X2 stands out the most with its detachable screen, which allows it to be used as a standalone tablet or docked with the accompanying keyboard. Like the Samsung Series 7, and the Microsoft Surface, the dock has a full sized keyboard and a touchpad! Hp says it has spent a considerable amount of time on the hinge design.
Well, lets see where it gets Hewlett Packard, since its now got competition from Samsung, and Microsoft!
Hey guys!
A funny story is sweeping the internet. Samsung paid $1.05 billion to Apple by sending 30 trucks containing five-cent coins. xD
According to PaperBlog, the trucks were sent to Apple's main office in California this morning. Initially, the security of the company prevented the intrusion. However, Apple CEO Tim Cook received a call from the chief executive of Samsung that they have sent the payment for the fine ruled by the jury in the recently concluded patent battle of the two tech giants.

This may present an idea to Samsung since the jury did not specify a single payment method, so Samsung is entitled to send him to the creators of the iPhone its billion dollars as they deem best.

Well, Winning the court battle only strengthens its position in the market before the much anticipated release of iPhone 5 on September 12. Moreover, this could yield to its dominance in the tech market.

Hey guys. What's going on?
Picked up any portable storage device lately? Maybe a flash-drive, or hard disk maybe?
Over the years we have seen the evolution of portable devices! Back in the 1970's , this is how a Hard Drive looked like, with just 250 Mega Bytes of space!

Can you imagine that? From hard disks this big, to micro-SD cards of an inch, we have seen so many drastic changes in portable storage devices. I think one of the first portable devices we used was the Floppy Disk!
And when I was a kid, I used to use it for transferring MS Office documents and stuff. And I still remember the times I broke Floppy Disks to see the brown film that runs through it. Lol! Then we saw the Compact Disks/Dvd's. It was only until, 2 years ago, that I believe most people stopped using CD's. The introduction of portable mp3 players, and the revolutionary iPod's from Apple, people actually stopped using CD's. And in today's life, there is not a single day I have used a CD/DVD! The introduction of iTunes, has completely changed the music industry, changing how people download their songs instead of buying a CD from a store. And the sales are recorded not by counting the records sold, but counting the number of digital downloads. In the recent years, we saw the arrival of difference flash storage devices, like the 'Pen'-drive, SD card, Micro-SD cards. And most of us use these in our day to day lives! And now guys, its coming down to 'Cloud' storage! Company's like Dropbox, Evernote, Apple, and also, Microsoft have made it possible for us to store all our important data on a cloud, from which we can download it , anywhere in the world, anytime! Well, most of the people are still using them Flash drives, but they will soon be saying Goodbye to them too!
Today, I came across this picture from Microsoft, which encouraged me to write this post!

Gizmodo got its hands on Apple’s secretive Genius training manual and just posted an extensive breakdown of what goes on behind the retail scenes.

According to Gizmodo:

It’s a penetrating look inside Apple: psychological mastery, banned words, roleplaying—you’ve never seen anything like it.

The Genius Training Student Workbook we received is the company’s most up to date, we’re told, and runs a bizarre gamut of Apple Dos and Don’ts, down to specific words you’re not allowed to use, and lessons on how to identify and capitalize on human emotions. The manual could easily serve as the Humanity 101 textbook for a robot university, but at Apple, it’s an exhaustive manual to understanding customers and making them happy. Sales, it turns out, take a backseat to good vibes—almost the entire volume is dedicated to empathizing, consoling, cheering up, and correcting various Genius Bar confrontations. The assumption, it’d seem, is that a happy customer is a customer who will buy things. And no matter how much the Apple Store comes off as some kind of smiling likeminded computer commune, it’s still a store above all—just one that puts an enormous amount of effort behind getting inside your head.

In related news, Apple started giving Apple employees a free 50GB storage boost to their iCloud accounts. The $100 a year value also includes the 5GB of complimentary storage that comes standard upon signup.
